# Threads and channels of The Papa Squad
We know, Discord's thread search is atrocious. Did you know that it only matches whole words? That threads in a forum channel can only be visible in the thread list for just seven days since the last activity before they are relegated to the “older posts” section and hidden in your sidebar? That you can't convert a thread into a channel or vice versa? These and many, many other annoyances of Discord's threads make it hard to find where to discuss a topic in The Papa Squad, which already has a thread or channel for *every topic of any interest to anyone ever* (except for that).
If you're looking for somewhere to discuss a topic, here's a simple process that anyone can follow!
1. Start by searching this page for a relevant thread or channel.
2. If you still can't find a relevant place, try asking in #general. Someone probably knows somewhere!
3. If no one knows, then maybe it doesn't exist yet! Stunning, I know, but sometimes weird things happen. Go ahead and create a new thread for your topic, and don't forget to add it to this page! (Anyone in the TPS server can log into this wiki with their Discord account and edit this page.)
4. Don't profit because this isn't a three-step plan.
Don't forget that you can also check the “Browse Channels” section of the Channels & Roles item at the top of the channel list in Discord to see all channels. You can scroll through the list of threads in any forum channel by clicking on the forum channel directly (for example, lifestyle-hobbies-interests); they are sorted by recent activity by default.

"From March 1 until around June 17th I lost 14 pounds - all while gaining decent muscle. I'm 32 and I was 222.7 at the start and dropped to 208.6 as of the last time I weighed myself. One day I just decided to stick my diet and I said F it I'll start going to the gym when I can. I think the key was just going when I could and even though I'd miss some days, I'd still keep it consistent. As for my diet - that was and practically is everyday, but it's not super strict, I stray off here and there but not like I used to. Here are my core tips: 1) calorie counting: use a tdee calculator to find your daily macro targets - I use tdeecalculator.com. Once you get that you can usually end up with a good baseline to then find out if you want to lower/increase your calories. I aim for .8-1 gram of protein per body weight (I lean to the .8), moderate fats and carbs. 2) intermittent fasting: black coffee at around 9 am, meal 1 at noon, pre workout shake before the gym around 3, protein snack around 6:30, dinner around 7:30 pm - and then I don't eat until 12 pm the next day. Works awesome for me, others it may be some time before that feels right. 3) cardio: only cardio you need is weight training with moderate intensity however many times a week you can do it and around 8-10k steps a day. Works wonders. 4) high intensity workouts with reverse pyramid training: I do a push/pull/legs&shoulders split with abs twice a week when I go to the gym. The way I train is to do a warmup set of around 60% of what I think is like my max, and then do my heavy sets first for 5-6 reps then lower the weight and increase the reps by 1-2. Last set of each exercise I usually go till failure. It's hard to make time but so worth it. If anyone wants any advice on workouts and diets and stuff like that - please feel free to message me. I train reasonably intense and I've found some pages on Instagram that have really good meals - both tasty and effective macro wise."

It is set in the period after King Arthur's death, when his kingdom has split into three realms, which are in a constant state of war with each other. Dark Age of Camelot includes both player versus environment (PvE) and realm versus realm (RvR) combat. Given the tri-realm model, each with unique classes, the game has been touted as one of the best pvp games of all time. At the time of this post (January 2025) the live server is still around, but most players will recommend playing on a private shard. I know everybody says this, but I have never played another game like this. Three distinct realms offer no shortage of exploration possibilities. 30+ unique classes offer a play style for everyone. I figure most people who will find this post don't need to be sold on the game. On the chance you haven't experienced it before, my disclaimer includes dated graphics (I find them charming and better than EQ but think back to that era), a bit of a learning curve for competitive pvp, but I think most other issues have been addressed over time with the addition of QoL enhancements."

Live TLP servers release at very accelerated rates and look and feel like any other live server essentially."

"Morning dads! Everyone always talks a lot about the games they liked and enjoyed, but as a dad with limited time I've started to regret more gaming purchases. Does anyone else have any game purchase regrets? I'll go first: Both of mine are from this year. **Hogwarts Legacy** - I wanted to like this game, it looked interesting, had a unique magic system that seemed cool, took place in a world that I found interesting and grew up with. But it just fell flat for me. From the story which did not end up drawing me in, to the magic system that felt okay at first but ended up being a little flat and not engaging. I just couldn't stay invested. I paid $60 and put in less than 13 hours and haven't played in months, big regret. **Diablo 4** - I have played the Diablo series since the first one back when I was a kid with my dad, we burned two extra copies and used to play with my brother as well and had a blast. Loved Diablo 2 as well, and Diablo 3 after the main expansion came out and they ported it to Xbox (the intial PC release sucked). My buddy and I played D3 so much that when they ported it to Xbox and had the paragon system we checked our levels compared to the global average and we were in the top 3%. After thousands of hours in the Diablo games I was excited for D4 and here I am at lvl 55 with 0 interest in continuing to play. The story was fairly engaging, but the lack of adequate build diversity is just sad. I don't really care about finding new items for my character, and the always online aspect was one thing I hated about the initial D3 release. For those who aren’t familiar with it, Guild Wars 2 is an MMORPG that, unlike most others, is extremely casual friendly and respectful of your time. The main reason for this is its horizontal progression rather than the usual vertical treadmill of games like WoW or FFXIV. This means that once you hit max level, you begin to progress your account in ways that will remain valid for the lifetime of your account. This includes earning gear that will never become outdated, extra abilities (known as masteries) that will increase your abilities to manoeuvre the world such as gliders, mounts, etc or interact with things in the world. Aside from the horizontal progression, it’s the kind of game that you can hop on for 20 minutes and not only have fun but feel like you’ve achieved something. Guild Wars 2 pioneered WoWs Mythic+ system, here it’s known as Fractals. Small bite size dungeons that can be completed in a few minutes, with varying difficulties and modifiers, that offer great rewards. I have all the games and should be able to manage hosting a stream here on Discord, you’ll just need to bring a phone/tablet/PC of your own! If you’re unaware, Jackbox is a collection of party games. They generally release one collection a year. I have all 9 that are currently released. The games vary from “Pictionary with nonsensical concepts” to “Mafia in Space” or “Trivia with backstabbing and murders”, there’s 5 or 6 games in each pack. Only the host needs a copy of the games, everyone else joins along by going to jackbox.tv and entering the room code. The game plays out on the host’s screen and you submit answers/drawings/jokes on your web browser (phone, tablet, PC, whatever!) It’s also very drop-in friendly for you busy dads, players can enter between sessions easily, and if you can’t join, you can spectate, which even allows you to effect the outcome of the game in some cases. I am available most evenings after 8pm EST for an hour or two. Most games in these packs run between 15-25 minutes each. Any questions? @ me and I’ll get back to you shortly!"
